The Quality Control Model for the Whole Industry Chain is Highly Praised
In Oct.22, the 17th High-level Forum on China Quality was held by AQSIQ, MIIT and Sichuan Provincial People's Government in Chengdu. The representatives, famous academicians and industry experts from food, manufacturing, textiles and other industries gathered here to freely talk about the quality safety and corporate integrity. COFCO Rice Industry was awarded the title of National Typical Company for Excellent Quality and Integrity in 2010 National Quality Month Activities and its quality management and control model for the whole industry chain is highly praised by the industry.
Bai Lichen, Vice chairman of CPPCC, said the quality can comprehensively reflect a country's economy, technology, culture and overall strength. It is a major strategic issue for economic and social development. Recent years, Melamine, Sudan Dyes and other incidents raised the whole society's attention to the food quality and safety issues, which also queried each company's social responsibility.
"To guarantee the product's safety and quality and offer nutritious and healthy rice to consumers are the glorious mission and bounden duties for COFCO Rice Industry." Yang Hong, General Manager of COFCO Rice Industry, told the reporter.
However, it is not enough to guarantee the food quality and safety only with the responsibility. How to start from the companies themselves to elevate the quality level through management and innovation become the hot issue of the forum. Yang Hong said as the leader in the whole country's rice industry, COFCO Rice Industry shouldered three responsibilities for the society, industry and consumers. In order to guarantee the safety and health of each grain rice that provided to consumers, COFCO Rice Industry, referring to the advanced international experience, implemented strategic management for the food safety of "The Whole Industry Chain", basically establishing the whole industry chain's management and control system from the field to the dining table. On the road to elevate the food safety and quality, COFCO Rice Industry has taken a big step.
The so-called management and control for the whole industry chain is just customer demand-oriented. It will make systematic management from agricultural raw materials to the end consumer goods, including planting, purchasing and storing logistics, trade, processing, breeding and slaughter, food manufacturing and marketing, effective control on key links and organic coordination among links to minimize the risk in food safety.
It is said since 2009, COFCO Rice Industry gradually made clear and completed each chain link of grain production "from the field to the dining table", based on which, it selected 26 key management and control points from the whole industry chain and established a set of scientific and mature management system to well ensure the quality.
"Our 'Fulinmen' and 'Wuhu' small package rice are all from the unique production area absent of any pollution, which guaranteed the rice quality and safety from the source", said Yang Hong. Benefiting from the quality management and control for the whole industry chain, "Fulinmen" and "Wuhu" rice with good and superior quality become the excellent rice brands under COFCO and sell well all over the country. Just for its excellent quality, COFCO Fulinmen rice was specified as the unique rice by Shanghai Expo in 2010, meanwhile, it won "The Best Popularity Food Award" and "The Most Trusted Food Brands Award" in the Awarding Ceremony of "Green, Nutritious and Healthy-Experience 2010 food brands I most trusted".
The quality management and control system for the whole industry chain of COFCO Rice Industry not only made "Fulinmen" rice win good brand reputation, but also help this quality management and control model receive wide praise from the industry.
Cheng Guoqiang, Deputy Director and Researcher of Research Institute of Market Economy, Development Research Centre of China's State Council, once highly praised COFCO's model for the whole industry chain.
